The New Moon Shoes: Air Kicks Anti Gravity Boots
So my first searches about the newest version of the moon shoes keeps bringing up the anti gravity boots made by Air Kicks. My first reaction was definitely at the price – I’m only twenty three but already getting the urge to say things like, “back in my day I could get a pair of moon shoes for twenty dollars!” But come on, it’s crazy that something like is pushing one hundred dollars now! Ok, so after getting over the price and looking a little further into what these things do, my initial reaction is of course, “whoa, I want to try these things out.”
Here is the new ad for comparison and once again I’m drawn in like a sucker thinking that it’s finally time for me to try moon shoes again; and there’s even this new kind for grown ups. I wish that my youthful dreams could be answered but unfortunately the reviews aren’t coming up as too stellar. I’ll have to start off by saying that I still think they look pretty awesome and I might actually have to give them a shot, but unfortunately the reviews of these are almost exactly the same as for the purple and green shoe sized trampolines that Nickelodeon produced.

Basically, it seems like most people complaints come down to two major things: they don’t really bounce as high as they would have guessed and they are dangerous for children. I think in regard to the danger claims this is probably true, but if you’re going to be putting on portable trampolines you have to at least be assuming some level of danger. In regard to the bouncing part, this seems like something that us mere mortals are just going to have to learn to accept: no matter what we put on our feet we’re not going to get to feel what no gravity feels like.
The same thing happens with a pogo stick or anything other than an actual trampoline – bouncing up and down on the ground is just not the same as bouncing on the moon. I’m definitely not ready to give up on my search for something that is at least a little closer to moon shoes and unfortunately, though very cool, the Air Kicks Anti Gravity Boots don’t seem like they’re going to do it. The next post might involve something resembling a rocket pack if it’s what’s necessary, but there has to be something out there. Is it so much to ask to want to walk on the moon?
